Our team actually chose to pivot a few weeks in to a different project, after extensive interviews with Times employees we discovered there was a lot of sentiment invested in the traditional style of the Daily Briefing. This still remains a project I am proud of from my time at 620.
Something we intended to capitalize on was the already extensive collection systems the Times has for articles, be they trending or by actual sections and topics. We found making the distinction between these categories to be superfluous, and user testing showed distinguishing the categories to be more confusing than anything else.
